Registration
Registration helps the Embassy provide important services for American citizens residing or traveling abroad. Some of these services include:
• Locating individuals in the event of family or personal emergencies,
• Relaying important travel and safety information about the region,
• Arranging evacuation transportation in the event of a natural disaster or civil unrest, and,
• Issuing replacement passports when originals are lost or stolen.
Registration and The Privacy Act
In accordance with the Privacy Act passed by the U.S. Congress in 1974, the Embassy cannot release any information about you without your written consent.
The Internet travel registration service at
http://travel.state.gov/travel/tips/registration/registration_1186.html for American citizens allows you to register and update your contact information on the Internet, making it easier for you to keep your information current. The site also provides up-to-date travel information customized to your unique travel agenda and itinerary. The data you provide is secured behind Department of State firewalls, accessed only by cleared personnel in Embassies, Consulates, and the Department of State, and releasable only under the provisions of the Privacy Act.
We encourage you to register yourself and your family, and pass the word about this site to other American citizens in Kuwait who may not be aware of the registration process and this convenient website.
American citizens also may register in person by coming with their passport to the American Citizen Services Unit, Consular Section, from 9 AM to 11 AM and from 1 PM to 3 PM on Monday, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; on Sundays from 1 PM to 3 PM.

If you have specific questions about your registration with Embassy Kuwait please contact us KuwaitACS@state.gov. American citizens with any questions or concerns may telephone the Embassy at 2259-1581 and 2259-1583 or 2259-1240. In case of an emergency outside business hours, American citizens may reach the Embassy duty officer by calling 2259-1001.
