PRESS RELEASE October 2007
professional Training Program seeks exceptional YOUNG Women in business OR law
AMIDEAST is now accepting applications from young female leaders in business or law for the 2008 Legal and Business Fellowship Program (LBFP). The five-month program is designed to provide opportunities for fellows to apply their skills and gain experience to help them grow as professionals and advocate for an improved investment climate and legal reforms. The LBFP is funded by the Middle East Partnership Initiative of the U.S. Department of State and administered by AMIDEAST.
Since 2004, 114 dynamic young professional women from across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) have successfully completed this program which provided them a foundation to make significant contributions to their professions and communities.
The upcoming program will take place in the United States from March 30 through August 28, 2008. Outstanding candidates from across the MENA region will gather in Washington, D.C. for an orientation that will be followed by a one-month executive education program at the Wharton School and the Law School of the University of Pennsylvania. The women will then move to one of several key cities in the United States where they will complete a fellowship with a top U.S. law firm or company.
Applicants must be women between the ages of 22 and 32 who have an undergraduate or master’s degree in business or law from a recognized university that is not located in the United States. Applicants with degrees in other fields must have three years of work experience in business or law. Candidates must have a strong academic standing and proficiency in written and spoken English with an adequate TOEFL score (ITP 550 or CBT 213 or iBT 79-80) that is less than two years old.
Additional eligibility criteria and application instructions are at (www.amideast.org/LBFP). For more information, contact an AMIDEAST educational adviser at +965-575-0670, ext. 19.
Women from under-served and under-represented communities are strongly encouraged to apply. |
