Department of State released the annual Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report for over 170 countries

بالعربية
On June 16, the United States Department of State released the annual Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report for over 170 countries, including a report about TIP in the United States.  The United States Government’s definition of TIP is based on the United Nations definition.

The TIP Report is an annual report mandated by the United States Congress.  On June 16, the TIP Report release included reports on 170 countries.  The TIP Report measures the steps that the Government of each country has taken to combat this problem; the TIP Report is not based on the level of TIP present in an individual country.

The United States Department of Justice requires that the United States write a separate TIP report about TIP in the United States; this report is the longest of all.

This year’s TIP Report for Kuwait notes that elements of the Government of Kuwait and the Kuwaiti public have begun to examine this issue in a serious way, and looks forward to further progress.
